This expression comes from the Ardbeg distillery on Islay. Distilled in the year 2000 and bottled in 2024 after 24 years of maturation. ABV: 47.8%.
Cask & Maturation Details
The spirit matured in bourbon casks and a portion was finished in hand-selected Amontillado sherry casks – a first for Ardbeg.

Tasting Profile
Nose: potent, deep and spicy with notes of creamy toffee, blackcurrants, creosote, coal tar soap, antique leather and almond nuts. On adding water hints of charcoal, graphite and damp moss appear.
Palate: remarkably powerful and smoky – coal tar meets woodsmoke, antiseptic lozenges meet bonfire embers. The Amontillado finish brings subtle toffee, leather, cinnamon and clove.
Finish: long, lingering, with menthol, eucalyptus, linseed oil and charcoal.
